Mehmet Emin Debeş, born in 1961 in Famagusta, is a father of two. He graduated from the Istanbul Technical University Maritime Academy in 1984. Between 1984 and 1992, he worked as an officer on various commercial ships, and in 1992, he became a Master Mariner (Unlimited). Until 2005, he served as a captain for different companies and took on roles such as inspector in shore-based teams during this period.
In 2005, he founded his own company in Cyprus in the field of maritime services, offering ship agency, maintenance, and survey services, which he continued until 2012. In 2012, he started his academic career as a lecturer at the Near East University Faculty of Maritime Studies. In 2015, he completed his master’s degree at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences at the University of Kyrenia in the Department of Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering.
He is currently serving as a lecturer at the University of Kyrenia Faculty of Maritime Studies and holds the position of Head of the Department of Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering.
